About Our Sugar Gliders
"Darlin" is our First Glider, brought home
from her Mama "Pearl" in November of 2000.
Now, you have to understand ... My Wife & I are BIG Pet Lovers.
Between the two of us over the many years, we've had a wide variety of pets,
including a southern flying squirrel, a possum, a skunk, a southern red fox,
and once, a baby chipmunk I rescued from a ditch one stormy morning.
As I type, we have our 15 year old Red Timber Wolf named "Tasha"
& her two Hybrid Pups "Black Girl" & "Filthy Fella" in our yard...
probably giving our four assorted cats their morning baths!
Yet, of all the pets we've both had, "Darlin" is, by far, the most loving,
and most SPECIAL Pet we've ever held. Her equally lovable Mate "Muzbe"
(which means "I Muzbe CRAZY to get another pet") is without a doubt
the most rambunctious rascal I've ever had the opportunity to share my life with.
The first time you lay eyes on a sugar glider, you understand the basic attraction.
But only those who share their lives with gliders see the "main" attraction.
For instance, the first time you look down into your shirt pocket & see that your glider has fallen asleep, curled up with his/her little hands folded, or the first time
he comes up out of his bed at the sound of your voice, or the first time she
hops onto your shoulder & touches her tiny nose to your cheek in a glider kiss...
Almost anyone who sees your glider will say that they are "Cool" and "Cute",
but that person can't know about the things that only you experience,
as the glider's adoptive "Parent"...
and those are the BEST things about sugar gliders!!
